Hi everyone! This project called ‘Eyeballs Made Easy’ is being run by Dr. Hessom Razavi along with some of his junior colleagues including me, Sanjay! Dr. Hessom Razavi is an ophthalmologist working at Lion’s Eye Institute and I will be an intern at Royal Perth Hospital next year.

Eyeballs made easy will inspire current and future doctors to explore the fascinating story of vision and eye disease and ultimately provide high quality eye care with a positive patient experience. This will be achieved through a new personalised, interactive, visual and digital narrative accompanied by a change in the curriculum. The change in curriculum will feature a change in learning outcomes and subsequently assessment types.

This project was inspired by many ophthalmologists including Dr. Hessom Razavi who feel the need for better teaching of ophthalmology in medical schools. This is because many junior doctors understandably struggle to manage eye cases optimally due to little exposure to ophthalmology in medical school. This project aims to change that while also promoting the use of modern technology in medical teaching.
